The sales pitch from hosts are usually much higher than the service level provided. I do have one exception to that notion and it is hostmysite.com. I have had them host everything from basic PHP sites and blogs all the way up to dedicated ColdFusion/SQL Server sites. Not only do they do a super job in handling maintenance and support, but they also have experts on staff to handle every sort of technology that they offer. I would highly recommend them as they have never let me down in my hosting needs and have answered every technical situation I have posed to them. Chris, great post and super accurate.
